Fear is temporary…BUT REGRET…well that lasts forever!
If you are anything like me, there are plenty of things you would love to do in life…professionally…personally…spiritually…BUT…
There is this little thing called FEAR that stops us. We say things like..
Well what if I fail?
What will they think?
I don’t know about this…
How will it end?
I could go on and on about the questions and scenarios we end up playing out in our head that most of the time couldn’t be further from the truth. The good news though, is that, these fears are only temporary. Regret is permanent.
Do you notice that we tend to “bounce around,” between all the things we are scared of in life?
Once we diffuse one fear, we move onto the next and so on. These may last seconds, minutes or even days. But, regret, well it can last a lifetime.
Imagine you are near death or towards the latter part of your life…
Do you want to be saying things like…“I wish that…”
“I mended the relationship with my Mother…”
“I took more risk in my life…”
“I went after the job I REALLY wanted..”
“I travelled more…”
“I believed in myself more…”
These are just some of the many things that are common for people to regret. There is hope for you, it’s not too late. Treat fair as a tool. Something positive. Use your fears to drive you to the next step in life. If you are scared of something…GREAT…do it!
Remember when you were so scared to jump in the deep end of the pool?
I can…
I was mortified for the longest time!
But, as many of you know, once you jump in, the FEAR is gone and you feel great. This is the same thing as all others in life. You can do it. You can overcome your fears. Do the things you are nervous to do.
Call a loved one…
Chase after that job…
Work on yourself more…
Believe in yourself, follow your heart and remember how far you have come and NOT how far you have to go!
